Youth Program Update

If you got KPFT’s May eFolio, you no doubt read an “update” to our Summer Youth Volunteer Program. I was a bit surprised about the posting, as my article the May eFolio was written for this blog in January, but am hopeful listeners want an update about our program, which has grown significantly since the January piece was ‘penned.’

As of now, we have a dozen youth of varying ages participating in the youth program. In addition, we have a coordinator chosen and will be scheduling youth and formulating complete materials over the next week. Since early in the year, KPFT has added a 30-minute youth show and this will impact our overall programming scheme, since youth have an option beyond a biweekly Open Journal. In addition, I expect we’ll be sharing content through a variety of sources, including Pacifica’s Audioport, Radio4All and Public Radio Exchange.

More soon. Apologies for the old writeup in our eFolio.
