Vietnam Victory
There are only a handful of great audio archiving repositories in the United States. Our own Pacifica Radio Archives is one, but San Francisco’s Freedom Archives is a distinct one as well. Led by former political prisoner and activist Claude Marks, the Freedom Archives houses, by far, some of the most revolutionary recordings available. Whether it’s the poetry of political prisoner Marilyn Buck or human rights abuses in Chile, the Freedom Archives has not shied away from challenging content. This week’s choice is no different.
The selection below comes off the Freedom Archives’ Roots of Resistance CD. “Vietnam Victory” features the voice of Ho Chi Minh speaking to the American anti-war movement, among other segments. You can purchase the CD from the Freedom Archives. It includes a number of powerful voices for civil rights, social justice and self-determination. Well worth a buy.
