I am in Atlanta now, and it is great to see so many folks. The Pacifica Radio Archives and the Pacifica Foundation sponsored the Wednesday evening reception. Video for such is below.
Apologies for the audio quality — even close, the acoustics (the event was held in a garden/pool area) were poor — but I hope [...]

Nicole Sawaya has taken on an almost mythical stature in Pacifica.
Hailed for her vision before she started as the Pacifica Foundation’s new executive director, Sawaya was almost as quickly the subject of many an anonymous post after seemingly vanishing from the scene nearly as quickly as she began.
To many listeners, the executive director issue is [...]

The KPFT staff wants to thank volunteers for contributions to the station in 2007.
Collectively, we experienced a bumpy year with many successes, an attack on the station and several losses. Come join us as we laugh together, welcome new volunteers, hear stories from our veterans, acknowledge our collective efforts and build a tighter KPFT [...]

Matthew Lasar has reported that new Pacifica Executive Director Nicole Sawaya has resigned. Like most of the rest of the staff, I only recently heard about this issue. I’m optimistic that perhaps something can be salvaged, but don’t know if we’re simply back to the drawing board. Very troubling indeed.

This Sunday, I’ll be doing something fun to help a good organization raise [...]
