Call for IWD Submissions

International Women’s Day is less than a month away, and we seek producers to submit work for a 2-hour Pacifica Special to air on March 8.

Help us keep this tradition alive as we bring attention to women impacted by the war at home and abroad, women we’ve lost, female role models from history and the present, and how women are moving forward in realizing our power.

This year’s special will be pre-recorded and distributed to sister stations and affiliates on March 7 via Audioport and on March 8 on the Ku satellite. Renee Feltz will coordinate and edit submissions, and produce the final product. Please see the instructions below for how to get involved, and submit early!

CONTENT GUIDELINES
Content should support Pacifica’s mission. Focus must relate to women, and should be of national or international interest. We welcome music, poetry, interviews, speeches, women on the street, news and analysis.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Submissions should be 5-10 minutes long Each submission should include an anchor introduction. High audio quality is encouraged, especially audio recorded in person or in a studio. Early pitches and submissions will receive preference in selection process

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR WORK
Email a pitch to Renee Feltz, . Pitch should include description of topic, sources, estimated length, and producer contact info. More instructions will be given upon acceptance of pitch.

DEADLINES
Pitches due February 27. Final, or near final, segments with anchor introduction script due by March 5.

Pacifica’s Race & Nationality policy aims to have a racially/ethnically diverse group of producers involved, including new voices where possible. We will try to include segments that address issues of race, nationality and class and their intersection with gender.

If you have questions, please email me. I look forward to hearing from you!
